Aloha | Welcoming in 2016
I landed in paradise. Blue warm ocean, golden sandy beaches, and plumeria scented air. I am never coming back. Alas, I since have and am reflecting on 6 beautiful days welcoming in the new year! 2016! Such an incredible start with a wonderful group of people including my sister.
The days were made up of long swims in the ocean, drinking lava flows in the sand (why has nobody told me about these before?), long beach walks, and cool dips in the infinity pool with the most incredible views. While evenings consisted of getting dressed up in our island finest and feasting on ahi tuna and macadamia-crusted mahi mahi, pies from Monkey Pod, and endless laughs seeing the semi annual shows Bill Maher hosts with some extra special guests.
While my Hawaiian wardrobe consisted of mostly bikinis, I loved my new lace up top by Faithfull the Brand, which I paired with denim cut offs and doubled as a swimsuit cover up. Accessories included a straw fedora by Hat Attack and my usual simple gold jewelry.
The best part of being on vacation is the ease of my beauty routine. Salt water and a tan instantly enliven skin making the need for makeup minimal. I found my go-to products for base were Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint mixed with Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer topped with Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Ibiza - adding that perfect touch of dewy bronze and subtle contour. For Eyes, I kept it simple with a swipe of Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Sand Glow and Chanel Mascara, the addition of a flick at night. For lips, I mixed La Mer Lip Balm with my It Cosmetics Lip Liner in Nude Buff. Hair was left to the elements during the day, but at night I would condition with Oribe Gold Lust Conditioner, air dry, and throw in some waves with my new favorite Sultra Bombshell Curling Iron (tutorial to come!)
I hope you enjoyed my little Hawaiian round up and thank you for sticking with me this last year. Bigger and better things for 2016!
